Found this guy in the Silver proof set, kind of a bummer if it ruins the value of this set. Anyone know what would cause this to a dime that hasn't been removed from the case? Error, variety or damage?

I see Machine Doubling one LIBERTY...but I am not sure what the hazy letters are in the first pictures

There is also flat field doubling. A form of Machine Doubling, but because the proof coins are struck intentionally more than once, the slightest movements of the dies make a less desirable coin.
