Poll Question
I am going through my duplicates in my 7070 and I need to let one of these Type I Buffalo's go and I would like your opinion: Toned versus Untoned. Actually the Untoned has a splash of color, but the Toned is really toned. They are both graded PCGS MS65 and neither one is CAC'ed. The "toned" version is in an older PCGS holder, while the "untoned" is a newer (although not the latest) slab. I only need to keep one, while the other will be sold relatively soon.

Survey question: Which would you keep?

Thanking you in advance!

There are - literally - thousands of 1913 T1 Buffs in PCGS MS65 slabs just like the second coin. Chances are the first coin is the only one which looks just like that. You can either listen to people expound on how nickel tones unlike any other metal involved in coinage, or you can keep the proof.

Your choice.

I would definitely keep the first coin! (Note: I am not generally into toned coins either, but that is a great one there).

I'd keep the toned. As dave said, its quite unique and being in an older slab means people will pay more for it in the future.

I like the toned one as well. Although both are very nice. Tough call, for sure.

Toned for the win. Plus you get a neat die crack by the neck to boot.

I vote for toned too. It might be lighting, but the tone seems to enhance the details. Both are beauties.

I prefer the toned coin over #2, because #2 has a couple black specs on it.

#1 will probably just stay as is...or a touch darker, but not much.

Keep the toner, the die crack is pretty cool on it.
Feel free to call me Will.
