I'm not sure if there already is a thread to discuss about potential counterfeits or if this is the best section to post in, but just browsing through I found this. seller lists it as VF and I don't think that is far off, except I thought the strike looks a little weak on the reverse legends compared to the other legends and details. the tail of the 'R' in 'trust' looks a little longer to me than in other photos I've found within these few minutes

Is this possibly normal wear or a real weak strike? I'm not familiar with the Peace dollar, or the majority of US coins, but I thought this would be worth bringing up.

ok... so have I then raised a false alarm? I mean the legends look more like weak strikes than regular wear. the degree of wear on all parts of the coin does differ but I don't see the most raised features being very worn out

It looks legit to me. If you want to be certain you can try and figure out the VAM # here http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+VAMs The first thing you will need to determine is if it is an early design or the normal design.

Early B1 reverse Design (Disconnected olive branch & 2 mountain peeks) : http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+VAM-1

Normal B2 Reverse Design (3 mountain peeks & connected olive branch to eagles foot) : http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+VAM-2

From the pictures you uploaded it looks like it might be an early design. Luckily, there are fewer of them to sort through. Just start clicking on each VAM starting at the top until you find the VAM # that matches your coins attributes.

I think I see a dot on the eagles neck which would make it the VAM 1L http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+VAM-1L but I can't be sure with the pictures.
