Your grading thought will help me decide if I should have this coin graded by a TPG. It is red, the reverse pic is accurate, the pic of the obverse was at a bad angle. There is mint luster. Also, does the die crack on the reverse at 3:00 effect this coin in anyway?

Hi Jim

I see the coin as a slider AU-58 /MS-60 RB Based on the pic, There appears to be slight wear on both obverse(hair above and in front of the ear, cheek and jaw ) and Reverse(most notably on the ONE CENT and right wheat ear) what I'm seeing could be simple drawer rub ,,or even a relic of the picture itself.

If the coin is in fact in the slider grades then slabbing it would not serve your best interest.

The die crack will not affect the grade of the coin.

AU55-58 Just think there is a little too much wear on to obverse for Mint State.

AU58...although it looks completely dull in the pictures. If it doesn't have a lot of luster left on it, a grading service would likely assign it a lower AU grade.

If I saw the reverse only, I would be tempted to say it was mint state. It does look like there is slight wear on Lincoln's ear. Therefore, AU58.
