Getting Rid Of Euros

Well I was hoping here I would be able to give them to a good home....not until I get 250 (that's to sell correct?) posts. I'll get that up and maybe then we can work something out. I am at college right now and have a spring break coming up (coins are back home). I know there are about 7 one euro coins and I got most in Spain. I would much rather them go here. But thank you!

If you're in college I bet you can find someone who's planning to go to Europe this summer, or maybe even over spring break.

OK, this is a bit off of the original topic, but it reminded me of a funny incident in my life.

A few years ago, I sent my then-young-teenage daughter off to visit her best friend, who had moved to London. Because she didn't have an ATM or credit card, I sent her with a bundle of cash, which her friend's mother took care of doling out over the course of the three week visit.

Well, this was my daughter's first "independent" trip abroad, so her first time dealing with foreign currency. She was so intimidated by making change in unfamiliar denominations that she decided to spend only bills. She came home with about £50 in coins!

A couple of years later, I traveled to the UK for business, and I hauled that bag o' coins with me. I got some strange looks when I paid my restaurant checks in coins, but hey, it's money! Of course, in London it took about three meals to spend the whole lot.

A lot of those pounds were probably fake!

I want you both to understand, deliberately pushing your postcount up is a bad thing. It is what thieves do when they're in a hurry to take advantage of the membership, and even though I don't believe you're anything like that, the behavior is the behavior. Coin Community is not a place for people to come just to engage in commerce, we only allow it with great reluctance and we hold to very stringent rules about eligibility. That includes our entirely subjective decision as to whether or not you're offering quality content in return for our extending you the privilege.

A constant barrage of "me, too" posts is going to get you nothing except a forced reduction in your post count, and some serious background attention from us. And nothing gets you more closely-watched than announcing in public that you're deliberately upping your postcount. That's like admitting you're going to be a problem. Look at the bigger picture, like we have to.

Nothing came out the wrong way, duncanbishop24. To an extent, I seized the moment to make a point which we wish to have regularly reiterated in front of the membership. We hold the Coin Community Family to a higher behavioral standard than any other numismatic forum and what works elsewhere won't, here.

Oh thanks for that tip jbuck. I have to start practicing that and get some bragging rights though. 19K Posts is still awfully impressive!

Dave, thanks for pointing it out. I try to just absorb as much as I can about this hobby and have so many questions. So I notice myself spending more and more time on CCF ...Instead of studying. oops. Thanks for the pointers.

Edited: Jbuck, I also forgot to let you know that I'm a die hard Red Wings fan! Unfortunately in the Eastern Conf. this year and hope we get to play a best of 7 this year!
