Need some help with this one. Would this be a DDO? The date and motto appear doubled. If it is, is this something that is rare? I can't find much info on DDO Mercury dimes. Thanks!

Humm The first thing that caught my eyes is the slight double rim to the south. I was thinking it could have been a slightly misaligned die that caused the coin to have some Machine Doubling.

From what I see, it looks like Machine Doubling, but there are many experts of the Mercury dimes out there that collect these more than I do. Take their opinion over mine. Though I like Mercs, mine are typically pretty high grades, so I dont have to guess whats in front of me.

If you look at the affected areas, the doubling seems to be going in one direction. Its also tough to determine if the affected areas have any of the date and IGWT lowered or taken away. Like Coop says, Machine Doubling reduces the affected areas - and the GOOD doubling ADDS to the coin, typically at the same height, or close to it.
