Is this still like MS-63? The toning got to it...

Very hard to tell with these bullion-type coins without them in hand. Since MS-63 is on the low side of the spectrum I'd have to agree with you.

While MS63 is a possible grade for this coin, I have to respectfully ask what's the point ?

Bullion silver eagles are just that, bullion. The TPG's (good or bad) have created a premium market for these coins. Unfortunately, that market just extends to MS69 or MS70 coins. Anything from MS68 to G4 will in all likelihood be worth no more than spot.

Can I ask why you are trying to determine a grade ? Are you just practicing grading skills ?

I would NEVER get an ASE TPG. My only reason I asked was to make sure people are agreeing it's BU.
From what I heard, BU is MS-63. Gem BU is MS-65.

This year is the third lowest mintage. So I checked ebay and saw some sell for 35 dollars. But MS-65.
So I wanted to list it but know where it grades about.

Did the toning ruin it? The golden tone on the back is nice but the front looks weird.
I had these images so larger that you can zoom in about ten times. Stupid Photobucket re-sized it.

*Note, that isn't a scratch mark on the back, it's just the air-tight holder*

Most of the completed listings on ebay closed between $23 and $31. Which is about what ordinary bullion coins are going for.

That being said, yes I think your coin is still BU. But the "eye appeal" is gone. Looks like there is more going on there than just toning. Looks very spotty. But technically still brilliant uncirculated.

Looks like an MS-63 to me.

The good thing about ASE's is there is not much difference in value between top and bottom graded coins, so no worry.
