So I went to the bank to make the deposit for work. As I walk in, I see the head teller giving a guy a number of rolls of halves. When left I looked at her with a pouty face and said "A------ did you give him all your halves?" She said, I am sorry, I forgot! I had talked to her before about saving any halves for me. I was just harassing her in a friendly way. I told her I was only goofing. She said, well I DO have gold dollars. I told her I was not really into those and she comes back with, I do have some large dollars, how many do you want? Oh, ALL OF THEM! LOL. This is what she brought out for me... 2 entire rolls! 40 Ikes in one shot!Woohoo! As I said, that is a personal best. Out of the 72s, 2 were Type 3, the other 5 were Type 1. One Type 1 76 and 5 Type 2. 14 were 78s, all of which are AU or better, many of them being toners. As are the 74s. All in all, pretty darn good. Edited by smokeriderdon 01/31/2014 9:48 pm

I don't know, I just could never get into the Ike's. I tried collecting them for a while, but ended up just depositing the 100 or so that I collected back at the bank

I spent the Ike that I got from the banks to help circulation. Young people are almost always surprised to get the big dollar coin and learn that it is a real currency.

Very nice. I just get funny looks when I ask for large dollars at the bank.

I got one Friday, a 71 cladder she had saved for me. I did show her my carry ASE, said she'd never seen one before. Hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot doing that. Rick

Sometimes I ask for Ikes with no luck. I once was surprised when a teller said she had $89 worth in the vault. I purchased them, they all were well circulated with no silver. That was year ago. Last week a teller said she had $100 worth she rolled into a plastic bag like a roll of sausage. I took them and found 40 MS coins of various dates. Real beauties! I believe this is a hoarded coin. But a sleeper.
