The area in question is incuse, is of uniform depth, and there are no raised edges along the entire length. In the first pic the light is angled from the west and in the second pic it is angled from the east. All opinions are appreciated, thanks!

Appears to be struck through string or wire to me.

Looks like thread/fiber. I found one that had the fiber still on the coin once.
