Saw one listed by centsles on ebay. Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know, no proofs were even struck at the Denver mint and proof coins didn't make their comeback until 1936. The auction has a bunch of hooey about what a great eBayer this person is and their policies but nothing more than the auction title for a description of the coin......

You are correct. Just another reason why people should stay away from NNC slabs.

Doesn't his description of the coin as a proof (when the coin could not possibly be one) constitute a fraud?

What bothers me is that you could do a little research and find out that the coin in question does not exist.

Yup. This one's a slam-dunk removal, as long as we're reporting it.

It's outlandish even for this seller. I can't understand why he'd offer something this ridiculous - it's not his MO.

I know next to nothing about Morgans, but I'm suspect of this alleged "proof" as well: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310859199897

There were Morgan proofs made in 1882, however there is no way I would trust one in a garbage slab like NNC.

He's totally lost his mind. That's a weak strike for a circulation coin, much less a Proof. This guy has to go.

The Seller of this type of stuff has been on ebay's radar screens for a very long time. The only reason he is still around is because he generates a lot of revenue towards ebay's bottom line. He has well over 100000 transactions and they have not all been stellar... Check his feedback.

Reporting might do some good but ebay is very lenient with him. He sandwiches in the questionable coins in between normal stuff and the unsuspecting "fish" will eventually bite.

When ever I see his items I just move on.

He has a *lot* more than 100k, given ebay's method of accounting for Feedback. Note, he's left half a million return Feedbacks. If we can make him go away, we will have won a tremendous victory. He represents all that's bad about numismatic retailing.

I'm not holding my breath.

Yup. That Morgan is nothing more than a weakly struck biz strike. Wow, $721 of clueless people.

NNC should give you at least one reason to run.

Anybody that buys a 3rd world slab from ebay's "centsles" is going to end up being "dollars less" at the end of the day!
