What do you think about this 1928 p Peace dollar? What grade could this get?

It seems to be cleaned but could this be a PL?

Never had a PL/DMPL and I'm just a newbie in collecting coin so I need your help.
I took these pics with daylight just in a rainy day so there wasn't too much light.

Thanks
Vincenzo

Harshly cleaned and polished in my opinion. It will come back "net" graded (providing an "S" mint mark hasn't been removed).

Is it just me or does that look like a curvy 3 in the side photo? Anyways VF Details, Harshly Cleaned, Environmental Damage.

I don't like the looks of the feathers. Red flag for me.

After the polishing this thing has undergone - it's among the heaviest I've ever seen - one cannot expect device details to be accurate-enough to determine if the coin is real or not. This one's been scrubbed hard enough to move silver around. Absolutely no way to tell what the coin looked like originally.

Looks like an altered 23 to me and heavily polished to hide it. I'm editing just to say I thought 23 before I noticed that zxcccxz thought the same thing

I hope at least that it is a 28...
Even to me it looked like a 23 but looking others 23 it seems that the 3 is more open.
Maybe it was the hard polishing that
These are the mistakes that make a young inexperienced newbie.
Maybe it was the hard polishing that corrupted the 8 in that way?
How do I ever know if I have a 23 or 28?

Send it in for TPG and you'll know. You can also show it around at a LCS and get some opinions.

Sorry, I think that it is definitely an altered 1923. The 1928 is all wrong and it has been highly polished.

Wish that it could be a 1928 for you, but it is not.

You know, now that I'm looking closer I think you're right. The center of the "8" is just too thin; real 1928's are pretty thick there.
