I am curious if anyone has a place that is selling ASE's at a low price. Local to me I have been buying them at $24.50 to $25.00. Sometimes friends and family send me money to buy coins. Right now we are wanting ASE's. (gold and silver) I am thinking I might be able to do better if I bought a monster box of silver Eagles. (500 coins), if I could get them at a better price. I might be able to get a good price local .. just thought I would compare .. just in case someone might know of a good place, with a better price. Thanks for any input. Only 2 1/2 hours left but this is the best price right now. APMEX (through ebay Deals) $224.99 for 10 no limit I bought a roll of 20 ( 2 sets of 10 come in a roll)yesterday and will buy another today Great deal because of FREE shipping, no tax and you can use your CC through PayPal They sold over 12,000 in 22 hours (24 hour deal)

ebay is just the go between. APMEX is who you ordered them from. Good move.... MCM and APMEX have deals like this frequently and the big advantage is the free shipping and no extra charge for using a CC....and it's a fixed price for 24 hours so if you catch a spike in spot silver (like today) you make out even better. You saved $200 just in the 50 cent or so spike. (almost at 14,000 sold)

I think you're better off in investing in bullion that has a chance of becoming numismatic; i.e. Kookaburras & ATB 5oz coins spring to mind. But that's just my opinion.

I checked and they rejected my order .. had a $5000 limit on my card.
so changed my order to 220 coins .. (22 lots)
called my bank and asked to up my limit so I can order more.
I hope they can make it happen before this auction closes

Premium (using APMEX and CC) on the 5 oz pucks is presently $5.43/oz Premium on the 1 oz Kookaburras is $7.82/oz Premium on these ASE's is $2.50/oz Neither of the 1st two options include shipping costs I do buy the 5 oz pucks but as bullion. I buy the P pucks as numismatic items because that's what they are. The bullion pucks (and the Kooka's) have the same potential of "becoming numismatic" as the ASE's. There are graded versions of bullion but whether to pay a premium to buy them or not is up to you. I buy bullion as bullion....easy to sell the ASE's when you decide to

If I am seeing it right .. they raised the price to $288.xx
So I missed the window of buying more.
Thanks again for showing me the auction ..
How often do they do that ... I still have $10,000 to spend ..

Well, if you look at the past performance of Kooks vs. ASE's, then you'll see quite easily that it would have made a lot more sense to pay a slightly higher premium and invest in Kooks than ASE's. The latter have a very slim chance to be worth much more than spot, whereas Kooks do - just do a comparison of what 2000-2010 Kooks sell for vs. 2000-2010 ASE's - ungraded, of course. Kooks also come in a capsule which you'd have to buy for the ASE's. Also, if you do a little research you can get the the Kooks for a lot less than APMEX sell them for. Provident, for example, sell them with free postage if you buy one of their 'free shipping' coins for a premium of $4.20/oz above spot when you buy 20 and pay by check. I'm just saying... Of course, everyone is entitled to spend their money how they like, but there are a lot of newbies out there who appreciate some advice.

Quote: If I am seeing it right .. they raised the price to $288.xx Damn, 20 minutes ago it was still $224. Sorry....I'll keep an eye out. The $287 price is way out of whack... ...and regarding Kooka's...I do own quite a few of them and Pandas and Koalas and African Wildlife and more. but...I do not really consider them bullion because of the premium attached (yes, I KNOW they are issued as bullion) If I see a good deal for any bullion I buy it....and I don't put my bullion in capsules. They stay in the original Mint rolls

As in the first post .. this was for information on ASE's. My friends and family pooled their money with mine to buy ASE's. Pretty sure they would not be happy with me buying something else. I do have examples of other bullion coins, at least 12 different ones. But in the small towns we live in the Kooks and Pucks .. and others do not bring a premium when selling back to the LCS's. IMO .. when buying hundreds of coins .. and then waiting to sell them, it is harder to sell any premium coins.

$22.50 a coin sounds reasonable. Nice pick-up that close to spot.
