Hi so I'm very new to coin collecting and dealing and everything involved with it. So I found this penny and I noticed the word liberty and the date looked funny . So I scanned it and zoomed it and if I'm right it looks like the date is a RPM I think but I cant tell for sure any help I can get wil be much appreciated. Thank you. It is a 1935 Wheat penny. I attached the pics .

This is from a worn die and not repunched, and for future reference an rpm only refers to a mint mark, any thing else besides the mm that is repunched would be called an rpd-repunched digit.

Re-punched digits when out with the 19th century. Now if there is doubling it has to be a doubled die. Thedollarman got it right on die deteriation.
Rest in Peace

Many times we think when we get an answer on a forum, we are the only ones who benefit? That that is not so. Those who read the threads also may find an answer about what they have wondered as well.
