I also am in the retuned/recolored camp, still a very nice large cent I'd guess AU55 details.

You know I was looking at this coin last night when going through my type set. The orange coloring in the picture doesn't actually show up in hand. The reverse is completely chocolate in color. The obverse has a little discoloration on the cheek, but not nearly as drastic as these pictures indicate.

My opinion on retoning could be the pics. Also the pics are though the plastic. Try pics out of the plastic and re-post for better oppions maybe?
