For example the 5oz ATB. The "collectors" coins from the mint all the the P mint mark and I see all those graded SP and the others graded MS

I believe the MS and SP you are talking about aren't grades, they're describing the coins. MS = Mint State SP = Satin Proof

PCGS describes the SP as follows Quote: Specimen (SP) â€" struck well like a Proof, but with a satiny, sometimes matte, semi-granular looking As far as more collectible itll depend on the series some, but overall I would say MS. SP seems to be the most common on special issues where high grades are expected to begin with. Upper end high grade MS coins even for most moderns are harder to find than more people realize. Plus most of the most collectible older series dont have any sp grades as far as I know making ms the winner by default.

I'll take an MS-70 over an SP-40 any day.
Just letting you know that your question isn't specific enough. Like saying which is worth more, a Chevy or a Ford?

Yeah the sp is just a type of coin. I will use the 1965-1967 special mint sets as an example. Some are graded as SP and some as MS, and then also SMS. They're one in the same really, at least as far as the SMS Kennedy's are concerned.

I think what he is actually trying to compare are the bullion hockey pucks and the collector version pucks.

My original comment still pertains. Just add ATB to the grades.

Quote: Sorry I was referring to the 5oz ATB The P versions are better than the bullion versions with very few grade specific exceptions. If you were going to do one or the other the P are the rarer version overall.
