My Father in law has had this Penny for a long time, it was given to him by a friend and he never asked him about it..

But it is from 1916, and has this weird mark on both sides..
Does anyone know if it is just something someone did in there home or anything? Or if it is special?

According to the Red Book a 1916 Lincoln Cent in G4 condition about .30 cents but yours is damaged so technically even less. 1916 is a common date.

its worth more to your father and to you than you could sell it for. Keep it as a lucky penny or keep it for sentiment.
