to CCF! and no it doesn't matter as long as it's a proper distance off. If the coin is a smaller size compared to the holder then I try to put then as close to the clear frame as possible. Otherwise if the coin is a snug for I space them out about 1/2cm off the clear mylar frame. Also I like to have them evenly and as perpendicular as possibly because for some reason it makes me mad if it's not. If the coin is really small (Like putting in a dime in a holder sized for a dollar or half) then I suggest putting in staples in a octagonal fashion to prevent damage. Best of luck.

Use a Flat Cinch stapler - This will help prevent a lot of scratching.

They must be placed at a precise 45-degree angle to the sides of the flip, and exactly halfway between the inner radius of the cardboard part of the flip, and where the outer radius of the cardboard would be were it radiused in concentric fashion with the inner. If not, we will come take your coins.

And if you dare show the folded part of the staples on the obverse side of the flip, well, it might get ugly.

My two school of thoughts. Diagonal is hard to get just precise, parallel is the easiest to execute and I usually put the fold on top, without a staple (more room to write).

Just make sure they are not too close to the coin. It is an accident waiting to happen...

Dollars like ssuperddave, each corner
Everything else like the duke second pic, 3 sides fold at top stay clear of the coin.

I always do a 90-degree, on each side.

And Thank you for that welcome. I love it!

I don't have one of those but I have taken some advice from a post I read some where here about using a smooth jawed pair of pliers very carefully.

Yes. Flatten the staples so you are less likely to accidentally scratch another coin with a protruding staple.

I use three at most. One along the top, two on the sides. I staple very close to the coin without touching it. If there's no gap I leave it at one staple but if there's a gap I close it up with more staples. Then I flatten them with long needle nose pliers. I used to have a flat clinch stapler but it was made in China and didn't last very long at all. RIP

You can purchase a flat clinch stapler for under $15 on Amazon or similar sites.

I use self-adhesive 2x2 flips. Once I put a coin in then it never comes out. I like the clean look without staples.
