What would you grade it? It's in an NNC holder, so what do you think they gave it? And finally, what do you think its worth?

I'm on the AU boat as well. It could very well score in the 50-55 range, there's some wear on the highest hair areas.

NNC graded it at MS-63. I have it at a mid-AU. I'll probably send it in to PCGS once I build up a decent group of coins to make it worth getting a membership.
I think many people avoid some of these coins graded by NNC or other basement graders, but I think that there are some good coins graded by these companies. You just have to remember to buy the coin and pay absolutely no attention to the grade on the holder and keep an eye out for any signs of cleaning or other damage that these companies overlook.

@ tpmjr2004 I completely agree with you. I recently bought an 1878 Morgan 8 Tailfeather in a numistrust slab, they had it graded at a 66. I paid $150 for it....thought it was worth a chance. I cracked it out and went to a show sold it to a dealer for $250...he had it at a 63+ coin.

I'd have said AU55 to 58. I think the hair looks quite good. If there is some luster there it might get up to an MS. I'd be inclined to go AU58 though.
