I have been CRHing for exactly one year now. I've found numerous errors (including 2 2000-P Sacagawea Wounded Eagle dollars), non-silver proofs, buffaloes, V nickels, thousands of wheats, IHCs, foreign, etc., The main reason I starting hunting though was for the silver. A friend of mine mentioned the hobby to me and it just sounded like a brilliant idea. I went to my bank, picked up $90 in CWRs of halves, found two 1976-S silvers and I was hooked. Based on some of the posts here regarding the 1976-S silver halves, that was some pretty good beginner's luck. I won't bore you with with all of my non-silver finds, but here are my first year silver totals. DOLLARS: Ike 1971-S (1) HALVES: Walkers 1942 (3) 1942-S (1) 1944 (2) 1945-S (2) 1947-D (2) Franklins 1951 (1) 1962-D (2) 1963 (1) Kennedys 1964 (18) 1965 (11) 1966 (59) 1967 (53) 1968-D (50) 1968-S (1) 1969-D (27) 1970-S (1) 1976-S (2) 2007-S (1) QUARTERS Barbers 1897-O (1) Washingtons 1935 (1) 1941 (1) 1943 (1) 1944 (1) 1944-D (1) 1951 (1) 1954 (1) 1956 (1) 1959-D (1) 1960-D (1) 1964 (2) 1964-D (3) DIMES Mercury 1920 (1) 1944 (1) 19?7 (1) (unreadable date) Roosevelts 1946 (2) 1946-S (1) 1947 (2) 1947-S (3) 1948 (2) 1951-D (2) 1952 (1) 1952-D (1) 1953 (2) 1953-D (2) 1953-S (3) 1954 (2) 1954-S (1) 1956 (3) 1956-D (3) 1957 (2) 1957-D (1) 1958 (1) 1958-D (2) 1959 (2) 1959-D (4) 1960-D (4) 1961 (1) 1961-D (2) 1962 (1) 1962-D (5) 1963 (6) 1963-D (4) 1964 (27) 1964-D (20) NICKELS Jefferson War Nickels1942-P (7) 1942-S (2) 1943-P (16) 1943-D (3) 1943-S (5) 1944-P (7) 1944-S (2) 1945-D (1) 1945-P (9) 1945-S (4) FOREIGN British India Straits Settlements 10 Cents 1882 (1) Canada Quarters 1903 (1) 1960 (1) 1965 (1) 1966 (1) Dimes 1928 (1) 1939 (1) 1942 (1) 1943 (1) 1949 (1) 1950 (1) 1952 (1) 1953 (1) 1957 (1) 1958 (1) 1960 (3) 1961 (1) 1963 (1) 1964 (2) Great Britain One Shilling 1940 (1) 1944 (1) Sixpence 1921 (1) 1943 (1) Mexico 20 Centavos 1907 (1) Netherlands 10 Cents 1944 (1) Panama 1/4 Balboa 1930 (1) Philippines 20 Centavos 1944 (1) 10 Centavos 1944-D (1) Venezuala 1/2 Bolivar 1936 (1) I still haven't hit a monster box, and I had to take a few months off from searching in the fall, but I'm still extremely pleased with my first year of searching. I've thanked my friend numerous times for turning me on to this hobby, but it was all of the great information in this forum that pointed me in the right directions and kept me going. So, thanks guys. I really appreciate all of the pictures, information and tips that everyone here shares. Todd

I think you did really well. Your friend should have warned you about how addicting CRH can be.

YOU have GOT to be KIDDING ME!! I'm at about 10 months or so and I have gotten basically NOTHING, compared to that STACK of yours! Do you live next to the mint or something, or are you just doing $20,000 per day? Gratz on the massive haul but it just makes me want to give it all up, It sounds like you beat my entire TEN months in your slowest week.

Nice silver count!
I might be the odd guy out, but I'd be more interested in the non-silvers, not bored!
Any real nice errors in all that?

I don't really search crazy numbers. I haven't ordered boxes since August or September. I do buy all of the CWRs of dimes, halves and quarters that I can find. The majority of my finds have come from buying bags off of coin counting machines. A few of the banks in my area have machines that reject silver. That's where I dump. But, most of the machines accept silver and the banks and credit unions have all been more than willing to sell me the bags. I've even had one bank sell me bags and then tell me if I don't find anything I want to keep, just bring them back and run them through the machine again. The silver sixpence both came from bags of cents. One purchase of 2 or 3 cent bags a few months ago gave me 2300+ wheaties. That was nice. I still haven't finished date searching those. As for the $20K a day. Not even close. I've taken weeks and months off over the past year, and the most boxes I've ever ordered at one time is 4 boxes of halves. You definitely can't give up Aslan. The stuff is out there, just mix it up a little and don't stick with boxes only. Justin, I'll try to throw together a list of the non-silver stuff in the next day or two. Time to go hit the banks before they close today and feed the addiction.

A nice thing about living in Montana is the lower population means there are less idiots, but less idiots means less idiots to put silver into circulation, plus I can not get CWR's. I even tried to bring in bank wrapped rolls from a different bank and they said they would have to open them all and send them into their change machine. Not only that but some of the tellers hoard and CRH too.
I can only think of a few coin star machines in my area and with the relative lack of morons I see little point in checking the reject slot... have a few times and nothing.
I'll keep at it but my total silver is under 4 ounces, 43 coins and most of them were dimes.
edit: spelling
