I believe I've found a type of double die date on a Ft. Mchenry quarter reverse. The 2 is seen quite easily, and the 0 only at the top. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Coop has it right....if it is the Date on the reverse of the coin (which that is where the date is on ATBs) it is incuse. I looked on my McHenry ATBs and it is incuse which makes this Machine Doubling. This is why it is important to show pictures of the entire coin. I actually learned about how different MD looks on incuse devices from Coop. It looks raised...but it isn't.

Incuse devices changes the whole ball game as they are opposite the thought of hub doubling. If they are incuse and the coin experiences slight Machine Doubling, this enlarges the devices. As far a hub doubling on incuse devices, I have not seen that yet, just Machine Doubling. I'm sure an examples will eventually turn up, but most of the doubled dies on the single hubbed dies has been on the central devices and not on the outer devices.
