Hello everybody, this is my first post in this forum, I am not a real coin collector, I just found some old coins in my parents' apartment and I found these two, are they real? What is their value? Thanks a lot.

The double eagle didn't respond to a magnet and it rang when I hit it with the quarter.

The picture looks a little off in color. Can you get its weight and size?

EDIT - should have said I was asking about the double eagle.

How do you tell it's not gold? Color? Some other property? Thanks.

the color looks off on both coins. Do the pictures show the true colors, or are they not accurate?

If you decide to get the any of the coins graded the coin(s) is assured to be authentic if an ebay approved TPG is used, but no grade is assured.

Colors the big one.

The coin itself is off too but with that coin once you see its not gold you can call it a fake right away.

Heres a couple links to real ones and what it should look like

So what's up with the rounded bevel between the rim and reeding--obviously that's not normal? Just asking to learn.

First of all thank you for the answers.
I recorded a short video of the coin with my video camera because the camera I used to take the pictures was pretty bad.
I think the coin looks in the video the same as it looks in real life.
This is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkk4GQowrNY
Thanks.

welcome friend, I can't comment on if the double eagle is real, I've got no knowledge of the series almost myself, but just so you know it's best to never touch the surface of a coin and hold it only by the rims. our fingers have oil that will leave a fingerprint on the coin eventually.

In my opinion, the double eagle is a fake, looks too silvery in color, but the quarter looks genuine. Weight is a big factor on both coins.

A double eagle should weigh about 33.4 grams

A quarter dated 1932-1964 should way approx. 6.2 grams.

Hope this helps
