Hello fellow coiners. Hope I can get some answers. 1. I have a few bags of the State Quarters from the mint, should I open them or leave them alone? 2. Also have a few different mint rolled cents (few of the Lincoln 2009) president coins, and 2006 nickles. Worth more left alone or should I open them? 3. I have so many uncirculated start quarters that I rolled a variety of them up and was going to dump them when I took my others in. My hubby said why chase will just open it and dump them in a bag with other coins. Just wanted to maybe make another collectors day. Should I do it? 4. Found this coin what do you make of it?

We're going to need a photo of that coin you mentioned in your fourth question. If you're not interested in the coins or in collecting coins, then I'm sure that a collector would prefer you leave them as they are. Don't expect a huge premium for them, but a collector would certainly appreciate them. You could take them to a local coin shop, a local coin club, of local coin show -- you should be able to find out what is close to you by doing a web search.

I just started collecting, I inherited a huge collection. At first I was just dumping them cause I didnt think much about keeping them. We'll I started researching some of the coins and have been hooked. Except its taking months to even get 25% threw it. I'm on my 40th cent coin box. I know I dumped coins worth $$ I can kick myself for that. I just have so much that I dont know what to do!

Quote: I just have so much that I dont know what to do! to Coin Collectors Anonymous!! Unless you are in dire straits for cash sit on them a while and take your time with them. You probably have found that it is all a bit overwhelming at first, that is why you have come here, and we are here to help you every step of the way. Our rules are this: #1 Never clean your coins. #2 Collect what you like. #3 Never clean your coins. And then there are the forum rules which I am sure you have already read. As for what you should do with your rolled and bagged coins? All I can say is this. I opened all my bagged coins and I am in the very long process of opening up 50 rolls of each of the P & D 2009 Lincolns, and putting them into 2x2's in order to sell them as sets. Don't worry about how long it is taking, just be patient and don't burn yourself out. Make this a rainy day project until your sure you are hooked. look for a local coin club if you are lucky enough to have one and pay them a visit. Just one more thing. There is literally a whole world of coins out there just waiting for you. Most other countries coinage has way cooler looking designs on them than nearly any U.S. coin has been minted since the Mercury dime. Good luck!

with Tim Stroud and additionally would like to say: Never Clean Your Coins! I can't wait to see the coin that you mentioned in question #4. When you are downloading the pictures, just make sure they are under 100kb in size. Good Luck!

I also have a few world coins as well that amaze me. Those will be the last thing I go threw and your right they are so much more interesting then US coins. I have noticed how poor the 80 cents are. They just crappy made.
