I don't have this one in hand yet, photos are from the auction. I'm not sure if anyone noticed what this is considering what it sold for. Reverse looks heavily worn, but it's the die. Obverse I think is VF30/35, but would love some other opinions.

Nice score a Cohen C2 I believe? With a rarity of R3+ I was watching one myself this weekend, just got too busy with other stuff and forgot to check in before the auction ended, this one looks a lot nicer than the one I was thinking about. I think it might VF30/35 at a TPG also.

This is indeed the Cohen-2 variety with a rarity of 3+. It is extremely rare in grades higher than XF (I think there are only 5 known). When I get it in hand I'll be able to tell the die state and if any evidence is left of the horizontal 6 error.

30/35 sounds right to me.

Quote: It is extremely rare in grades higher than XF (I think there are only 5 known). PCGS has 5 above XF45, only 2 of which are above AU50. Pro tip for those who don't have PCGS memberships and need Pops: the PCGS Registry. Listings of individual coins in Registry sets include the "Pop in grade" and "Pop Higher" which are both PCGS-only numbers.

Received today and was able to inspect it under a loupe. It looks slightly better than the photo when in hand. The date is interesting, the weakness of the 1 8 and 6 and the strength of the 2 could perhaps indicate something was on the numerals during the strike. Couldn't find any mention of a weak date in Breen for this variety/die. This appears to be Breen die state IV.

I'm stuck between 3.0 and 35. The obverse is saying 35. The reverse is weakly struck most likely 30. The solid feeding on the rims have me leaning towards 35. Nice
