Hi everyone,
Been looking at this 53 and can't decide if it is a rpm, or Machine Doubling. Seem's it could be a DD west but, I don't see a inner curve What ya think?

Picture's too compressed, but Since the doubling looks flat and without characteristics of it's own, I'd have to say Machine Doubling.

I'd guess Machine Doubling, too...though don't take MY word for it! Better pics would help.

Best Wishes

Well known, somewhat common - it's RPM#1, 1953D-1MM-001.

Well, I'm surprised CC! I'm not seeing the inner curve at all. I've got two of these that I just found this week, but this doesn't remind me of it.

I still would like to see a better picture of it if you could Moonshine.

Hi,
Vaslin, The coin is pretty worn, so it wouldn't scan very good. I looked at a couple other 53 RPM'S I have, and they don't show the inner curve very well either! Here's another scan of the whole coin, but doesn't answer our question of the inner curve!!!

The first scan that you did was actually pretty good size, the only problem was the compression was too high. See if there is a setting on your camera to favor quality over size.
