Hi all I have the 2 coins pictured already slabbed by 2 different 4th tier companies. Just trying to get a feel for what they would be at another company a ball park. I am Looking to keep them long term but they will go to my kids and if they are worth a regrade I would do it now so it would be done. The finger print on the peace looks to be on the coin. Both are graded high in my limited knowledge opinion. I know the pictures arent great and the one holder has some tape that is obstructing them. Thanks

I'm kinda new at this, but if they were mine, would probably just keep them the way they are. They don't seem to command enough $ to be worth it to have them regraded. Both probably at the lower end of the uncs. Just my .02

Thanks, The peace was graded as a MS67 by NAC and the Morgan was a MS66 by HCGS. In my very limited knowledge I thought those were pretty high.
Rest in Peace

The Peace dollar is a common date and not worth regrading with a reputable TPG. The 1878-S would depend on what VAM it is as to whether it would be worth it. (It is not a Long Nock or a funky feather although)

NAC and HCGS? I never heard of them...

I was thinking:
Morgan, MS-60,
Peace, MS-62, possibly 63.

There appears to be to many scratches on both to be above a 64.

Your "limited knowledge" is more than ample in this case: those are horrible overgrades. Obviously it's difficult to render a precise opinion with the coins having been shot in the slabs, but even assuming heavy damage to the slab itself with the Morgan I can't see that coin exceeding MS63 if it's Uncirculated at all. The Peace dollar is slightly better, but all the same a barely-circulated coin won't look much different.

I can't even attempt to grade that Morgan. I feel defiled looking at it. It probably isn't worth getting it regraded but I hate seeing it in that damaged slab.
