Now if that was at the dollar store I'd but it

Edit Just checked melt value for a solid copper penny... $0.0212771

The company is called Leaning Advantage and there is a choking hazard warning... heck of a learning curve with that one

$3.49?

So, you get 100 Plastilincolns for 349 Zincolns. Seems fair.

Reminds me of one occasion when I was a child and was shopping with my parents. The bill came to something like £10.01, and my Dad got out a ten-pound note and then realised he hadn't got any change. My Mom put her hand in her pocket, pulled out a penny and gave it to the cashier. We paid and got the items. Five minutes later my Mom said "I gave the cashier a plastic penny!" (My Mom worked as a kindergarten teacher and had a toy cash register with coins in her classroom, and she'd picked up the penny off the floor one day when finishing work, meaning to put it back in the toy cash register the next time the kids were playing with it).

I actually found one of those plastic pennies in a roll of pennies the other day. I thought that was funny. Got ripped off but then a few coins later there was a dime. I guess since the plastic pennies are worth 3.5 cents each I shouldn't have been upset.

I Just Found ONE! Just came out of a roll

It says "Imperial" above the head there is no date and it says "play money" where it should say Liberty.

The obverse looks almost exactly like a LMC thou.

I see they make them in multiple denominations. If you look in the bottom right you can see one that looks like halves.

isn't the definition of money laundering
exchanging counterfeit money for the real thing?

No, no, money laundering is the taking of cash and exchanging it for new cash...legally speaking, the cash that's being exchanged needs to be from some criminal activity to be a crime to launder it. It isn't a crime to take $500 and buy a box of halves (which would be an odd way to launder money, to be sure), but if you ordered too many at once, a bank might get suspicious and file a report of suspected money laundering.

In other words, just make sure you're not committing crimes, and you should be fine no matter what you do! (Note the word "should")

"Made in Taiwan"

Since this was referred to in the plastic pennies thread I looked at the company and what if this is really used as money in schools over there? It does say "SCHOOL MONEY" in palce of "IN GOD WE TRUST". What a haunting though that That it could be made by school kids there as well.

All items certificate of conformity are t Taiwan regulations and they do NOT conform to Us regulations for "COPY" money. They don't say "COPY" anywhere and people are finding them in rolls?

Saw-This-Funny-Picture

How is this company/woman legally selling these out of Colorado?

It is definitely counterfeiting.
