That is called a mated pair. Very hard to find these.

Could that effect be reproduced with two smaller blanks and the other coin in the middle on a train track-let the train do the heavy work? I've seen some odd 'mis-prints' recently on youtube, some like a vice had been used. Is the seller trustworthy, due diligence is key-see if they have a history of these coins.

I think that mated pairs, including chain struck pairs, are generally undervalued and that's certainly apparent from this auction. Quote:

I was out of town for 3 days.... :/ I hope someone from here did get it. If that gets graded in one slab I bet it goes for 10X the ebay price. I have no experience or reasoning for this "guess-timate"...its just a great set. |
