What Do You Do Lincoln Shield Rolls?

I am new to collecting and I love everything Lincoln from 1909 right up to the shields.

I went to get my bi weekly $25 box of pennies usually circulated which I find wheat pennies, errors weird foriegn coins etc average roll hunting fun.

But today was a full box of 2011-P uncirculated Original Bank Rolls in sealed box and a week ago a 2013-p box the same thing.

I was so ho-hum, nothing to sort, nothing to search through for errors?

But maybe I am missing something?

Is it even worth searching them? Are there any collectable errors.

Or should I just throw it in the closet next to the 2013's.

Good luck to you and even if you don't find anything good it is still fun to search for that "treasure"

I have a confession. When looking through rolls of them for errors I have In the past gotten the inexplicable urge to strongly impress my thumbprints into both sides of the coin as my mark on history. I just look for any obvious errors like a blank planchet or something.

When I get the first solid box for the year I keep a few rolls and pick the best to fill the holes in my album.

Later in the year if I get a solid box I take them back and exchange them for a "used" box or the last 2 boxes I got I sold one to a local dealer at the monthly club meeting for face and I used the other box to bay my credit card bill.

Another option they go for double face on ebay for a box 2011-P or $15 for 10 rolls so I could sell 2 for $30 and go through 30 rolls for errors

After shipping and ebay and Paypal fees you would be lucky to clear $7 on 2 boxes or $3.50 on 1 box.

But $7 for beer money is $7.

It's your call.

I will trade you for roll for roll...I have 2011-2013 Denver

Sorry...I didn't realize you didn't have 250 posts (I think that is what is needed to sell/trade on this site)

I would go through them.

I can't believe that 2011 cents would sell for double face on ebay. Who buys this stuff anyway? I would sell them for that price.

if you really don't want boxes like that then just ask the teller if they have any (unsealed) boxes of cents. I haven't tried that yet but up here in Canada the only ones you can get seem to be sealed and when they get opened, there all new. Good luck!

I would suggest that you save all or some for trading if you need other things. You, of course, need at least 250 posts on this site before you can get into a trade through this site. There is a trade thread near the bottom of the coin forums when you are ready.
