Looking For A Mexico Coin Book - Coin Community Forum

Firehoth New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 03/04/2014 11:33 pm Hey all. I have been looking for a Mexican coin book that covered up to current day. The best I can find is either the Krause world coin book, the Krause North American book or Mexican books printed in 1963. Any help would be appreciated. commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12272 Posts	Posted 03/05/2014 12:38 pm Krause published "The Standard Catalog of Mexican Coins, Paper Money, Bonds, and Medals" back in 1981 - you should be able to find a used copy. Other than the current versions of the other two books you mentioned, I'm not aware of any new/recent books devoted to the coins of Mexico. I have the Buttrey and Hubbard "A Guide Book of Mexican Coins 1822 to Date" (Second Edition) published back in 1971 in my library. It's definitely a step up from the two current Krause books you mentioned in terms of historical content about the various coinage eras of Mexico but it stops with coins issued 40+ years ago. It's still a worthwhile pickup for the history it contains. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved. Report this Post to the Staff
