I would greatly appreciate hearing your opinions and comments about this 1804 cent. It is one of my better early large cents, and I was glad to find one without obvious surface problems. Only 1 variety is known for this year, Sheldon-266. This particular example exhibits die state C, with rim breaks on both obverse and reverse. I did not manage to capture the true colour well - it has an even medium dark brown color. ex Coin Galleries ca. 1988.

F12 average- condition. Very difficult to acquire in grades higher than VG/F, most graded above this are in known hands. You have some nice coins.

Rare key date coin on what appears by photo to be a clean planchet. Congratulations on having this lovely example. I'm going VG+_ on grade. David

Thank you all for your comments and opinions. Much appreciated.
Personally, and with my limited experience, I would grade this coin as slightly better than VG, but not quite Fine. The nice and smooth surfaces are for sure a big plus.
