It was in your average 2 x 2 un-plasticized flip when I purchased it. Here's the back story that the dealer came up with, whether it's true or not is beyond me:
The dealer said that it was mailed to him in better condition than he expected. If I'm not mistaken, he ordered it from a grading company that claimed it was Ms-66. The coin, however, was graded by one of the less reputable companies (INB?). The case could be opened easily. I'm assuming he pulled it out and sold it for Ms-65 price.

The thing that concerns me is the weakness of the strike, which I think will preclude it from topping MS-65. And you've got to be hoping it gets to at least that high a grade, because there's a huge difference between the value of an MS-65 and MS-64 for this issue.

2 things.

#1 please say the coin is in a protective and secure and safe holder at least a 2×2

#2 how does the edge look, perhaps there's something there that could give a hint as to why its not in a slab.

It's probably a lock MS64 to reach MS65 (which I think it might) you'll do okay - MS66? I don't think it stands much of a chance at PCGS or NGC. Sure hope the coin has no light wipe (I don't see one conclusively - but the cheek looks a tad suspect with the lines I see in the photo) and the strike as SsuperDdave said, isn't too bad for this year and mint. Need this one in hand I think to really get a good grasp of where any weakness are (beyond the strike), the luster looks really nice and frosty.

Are you sending this one in to PCGS? It would be worth a shot and potentially doubling or tripling your investment. Let us know what you decide. An interesting Morgan for sure. Hope it goes well for you if you ship it off for a grading.

Thanks, westcoin, I am sending it to PCGS as far as I know. To thedollarman, it is in a plastic 2 x 2 and the edges look great.

I think it is 65, IF that isn't a wipe on the cheek. That concerns me a bit.

MS65 for me, the lines look like planchet striations to me, nothing to worry about
