I was wondering what you all would say your favorite year type set to put together would be. Would it have key dates, first year issue, last year issue, historical significance. First year that popped into my head was 1909. What do you think?

1913
Lincoln Cent, Type I & Type II Buffalo, and the Barber dime, quarter and half.
A Philadelphia half, San Francisco quarter and dime, "S" nickel and "D" cent.
THAT would not be easy to assemble. A few gold pieces for spice.
Some rare coins in there.

Can be done more cheaply with common dates.

1873 is another year thats interesting. Indian Head cent, 2 cent piece, silver 3 cent, nickel 3 cent, Shield nickel, last year of Half Dime, Seated Liberty dime with and without arrows, Seated Liberty quarter with and without arrows, Seated Liberty half dollar with and without arrows, seated liberty silver dollar, Trade dollar. Lots of changes this year, lots of cc's. If only the Twenty Cent Piece was made 2 years earlier.

My favorite year IS 1941 (my birthyear).

Favorite year would be 1921. Virtually every issued coin that year is a key or a better date. Merc dime, Standing Liberty quarter, Walking Liberty half, Peace dollar, Alabama and Missouri commems ...........

Imagine an MS collection of all these coins ?

Plus lots of other coins Lincoln Wheat cent & Buffalo nickel (matte proofs), eagle and double eagle, gold dollar, Gold $5, $10 and $20 pieces so much going on that year. 1916 is a nice year, you would get both barber and Mercury dimes, and both barber and Standing Liberty quarters. 1921 would be a very nice set to put together. Lots of key coins plus you get the
morgans and Peace dollars.

I think 1916 is a popular destination for the time travelers.
