Recently, I was able to get a RFK silver dollar and JFK silver half dollar set. The price was a little more that I can afford, but wanted one very much, so will eat beans for the rest of the month. The Red Book lists the price at $420, but I got it somewhat cheaper than that. The silver dollar is nice, but the JFK half dollar is magnificent! It really is a great coin that has a "matte finish". It is fully white, no marks that I can see through a 10X loupe and it is a superb gem proof with deep cameo. What do other owners of this set think about the coins? I have a couple of coins more valuable, but certainly not any more appealing to the eye.. Berry PS, sorry I cannot provide photos, me and a camera just don't get along together very "good." I just purchased the same set about 3 months ago. You're right, it is a beautiful set. The matte finish is perfect on my JFK half. I purchased mine for around less than $420.00. It is a great addition to my Kennedy half collection. Now all I have to do is finish my Jefferson collection by purchasing both matte finish nickels.

Spider5689,
I have both of the matte proof nickels and that was an expensive proposition as well as the JFK half. My 1994-P Jefferson is a NGC SP69 and my 1997-p is a NGC SP70. I purchased my coins last year in Sep-Oct time frame. Price is getting out of hand today, so I have done well that way. Both coins are bright, tone-free with full steps. I would trade them off for the right deal though since I sold most of my nickel coins last year. I have a Jefferson Book that houses strictly P minted Jefferson's from 1938 through 1998. This does not include the two matte finish Jefferson's noted in this piece.

Otay got mine and yes it is a beautiful set; especially the Kennedy half. The matte is a nice finish and that should complete my Kenny Half Collection. I have most of the varieties also but still working to make sure that I do. I won my auction on ebay for 200.00 so I thought I done well on that account. Glad I got it. We do have a nice set there so enjoy cause I am.

Awesome pictures!
It is amazing what those half dollars are going for lately.
Should a set like like in the pictures be graded?
