OcalaFlorida Pillar of the Community United States 2824 Posts	Posted 03/16/2014 10:28 pm 1996-P Lincoln Cent w/ Trails or Spikes ? Die Deterioration I don't know what it is? Any Ideas? I found this putting a half a roll of 1996-p bu into 2x2's. it had a lovely redtone but the spikes or trail or whatever shine so bright you can see them on the table and 1 foot away no loop. jamesd Valued Member United States 281 Posts	Posted 03/16/2014 10:35 pm Looks like Die Deterioration of some sort, trail dies tend to run from part of the design like a letter or corner of memorial or something, good examples on traildies.com. yours are running from the edge of the coin. I can take better pictures with day light the led make it look not as 3d as it buts to much glare. its a very shiny uncirculated coin. I figure it some different its a cool keeper for me either way.. I just currently separate my error coins with premium with my error coins that I just think look cool but have no extra value to others.
