I'm just curious. Why did you send out a normal 1974 one cent ? I have found dozens of these over the years, if not more. Either a one cent (lincoln) is made of copper, zinc, steel, or that brass war time composition or the rare aluminum. Yours is made of copper. Maybe a bit of an annealing process problem but that would be it.

How are you doing Indian, well the reason this one was sent out was a few reasons,# 1- all the markers were spot on with the aluminum cent from obverse to reverse very specific markers from the die strike #2- I also seen many of brassy cents through my years and this was a bit different.#3- also the finning on the right hand side of obverse 4#- also the small date 74 which is early coinage die. Well Indian believe me buddy I don't just throw money away foolishly yet your soon to find out..

So your saying your coin was struck with the same die that struck the Aluminum cent example's? I don't see the value in that.If you've heard from ANACS then lay it out on the table for us.you can always post pictures later. Whats the point in dragging it out more?

I'm sorry if you think its about the value " its the hunt and finding something unique..70/30 brass is an experimental coinage pattern and not your average cent, meaning could be very rare one of a kind and that's a great piece of history to know about just like the once unseen aluminum.,

Oh O.K., Thanks. Hope it is something then. As noted by the earlier response, coin could have been struck by the same die set as the alum. one. But many were.

Yes! I do think & believe it's all about the value. Rare coins translates into a nice premium. I'm very happy you may or may not have found something that has no value or has value. What ever floats the boat. As far as finding something unique,I'm all for it and have enjoyed the hunt myself
