Some people think the term "free-market" means they are free to say just anything to sell their stuff.

I wouldn't be laughing if I were you. Recent Russian market is extremely mad and there is no saying how much people are willing to pay. Take for example a Soviet mint set of 1970 - guess how much it goes for these days. $10? $20? $50?
Try $650.
If I am not mistaken, the key dates are the 3 and 5 kopeks which are worth perhaps over 200 dollars each.
I am not too sure what the year of that coin is but it's hard to tell what it is worth especially without the obverse.

I obtain a large Russian collection of my own, and did manage to complete the USSR at type intended for circulation.
There is a huge amount of forgotten kopeki outside the Russian boundaries, and 1958 is a year which is struck but non-emitted. If this is a 1958 version, I am not surprised about the amount it made at the auction. In 1961 the Russian changed their currency design and made the people who lived over there exchange their old coin into new ones. Therefore pre 1961-kopeki are difficult to find. Mind you, the 1/2 kopeki, 1, 2 and 5 kopeki of 1924 is still a difficult set to gain in a recognizable state. Unc is nearly impossible...

1924 you say? o.o
Just last week I picked up 1924 1 kopek piece, that is absolutely lovely. The collector who had it before me marked it as VF+. Unfortunately, I don't have the 1/2, 2, or five to go with it, although I do have a lovely example of the 1 ruble coin from that year. A bad photo of the ruble in my photo gallery on this site. Give me a couple hours to charge the batteries in my camera, and I'll try to add the 1 kopek piece beside it.

I found it interesting that the buyer left + feedback only a day or two after auction end. How could he/she get the coin this quick? Overnighted?

Most likely tatyanal2007 is a shill bidder. Shipping time is zero seconds and positive feedback is instantaneous for a shill bidder.
