dsfreeworld is the 'what?' response to me? If so I'll explain, edweather had a prior topic about this coin with a different title etc. As I responded to the topic, a message came up saying this topic has been taken down/or no longer exists-something along them lines. I emailed the response that I wrote too edweather after his previous topic was closed, then I saw this topic-hence the post above^ explaining my email. Hope this clears up the confusion.

just not sure what is what here. Both coins should be authenticated. Some replies are like the English translations on things I buy from Walmart.

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."

Hi. There are 2 rare raw coins on ebay listed by the same seller. The first is a 1922 no D, and I had originally started that thread on the "Grading" forum, but moved it to the "Modern Coins" forum. https://goccf.com/t/172885I also started this thread on the raw 1916-D Merc dime. Here's the correct link to the dime. Sorry for the wrong link at the start of the thread....I corrected it....been under a bit of stress lately http://www.ebay.com/itm/38086581900..._1143wt_1042Any thoughts on it? Hope that clarifies a little. Very sorry for the mix-up. Thanks. Ed

Quote: I feel like I just stepped into the twilight zone Hence my "what" Yet I do appreciate the gracious response and subsequent follow up to the 1916-D As for the "D" itself, looks like a cast copy although I cannot be 100% sure. I have seen cast copies from China and the facial features as well as something about the mercury wings, almost bulkiness of them, has me doing several double takes. I am not sure, therefore I would only buy if the seller is willing to refund upon authentication process for the coin.

This story either plays out with someone being out a lot of money or someone spending money for a tog to call it fake and filing a paypal return. I wouldn't touch that thing in person much less online from pictures

Yes, I agree. A raw rare coin like that from photos? No way. I would be way over my head even if it were real. If I were the seller, how silly would it be to not get this graded first? That alone casts a lot of doubt.
