Does look like a Snow3 with the re-punch line under the 1.

Good sighting! Wow--S-1 and S-3 are sorta similar! But in Snow's book, compare the difference of the "1" to the denticles. On Snow-3, the "1" clearly crosses the midpoint of the denticle; on Snow-1, the "1" is about halfway. Based on that difference, I'll say it's a Snow-1.

It amazes me how many unattributed IHC varieties can be found on ebay. Many of these are sold by well established coin dealers. I don't know if they just don't have time to examine each coin closely, don't know what to look for, or just don't care. I agree that this coin is an S1, very similar to S3, but date position is the confirming attribution. Nice variety.

I think they just don't have the time. I found a 1908-S labeled as a regular 1908.

That little yellow guy running in circles kinda creeps me out a bit. Just saying.

I told the seller about the 1908-S. He just said my bad, go for it. It was at a few bucks with just seconds to go...I put a max of a hundred but alas somebody else spotted her too.

nice catch. Pretty sure this is the Snow-1, as the repunch is further from the denticles. On the S-3, the southern part of the repunched "1" is nearly touching the denticles.
I picked one recently in MS63RB PCGS. These 1875 varieties are quite scarce.
