Very nice coin as 1823 is a tough year. My guess is 3/2 overdate and VG10.

VG 10 is about right, with even surfaces. Nice coin overall. It does appear to be the 1823/2 overdate.

Thanks for all the input! It is actually a PCGS VG10, and it is not mine - I'm just considering it. I really like the condition, surfaces, details, but I don't love the dark color. I will probably hold out for one I'm happier with. Very important for a key date coin ...

Actually I was originally thinking F-12... Personally I like the dark color. It has character!!
