I've looked a good amount and can't seem to figure out what variety this is, since most from this date are bust left. Can someone please lend a hand? Also a ballpark valuation would help too, if possible. Thanks!

Decent looking grade. Looks problem free. Not sure of Miller # right off the bat but I'm going with F12-15.

Think a little earlier. Specifically, 1785-- Miller 3.5-B.

Yeah, there is no way that's a 1787. I think p nailed it as M 3.5-B
Did NGC call it a 1787?

philadelphian, ah I see what you are saying now. But I actually like Miller 3.5 B better. I think the hair over the forehead is a better fit, the thickness of the leaves of the headband, and the neck is a little chunkier like in mine....

Nice R5 CT. I would go with F on grade.

vermont, yep 1787 was put on label. But I suspect that is because 1787 is just what I put down as the date when I submitted it. And I was going off what the previous owner had on the flip lol We are finally breaking the cycle of telling this poor coin he is a 1787 when he is a 1785
philadelph, thanks for the push in the right direction
I will unveil grade tonight.

So NGC didn't think it was their job to tell you the actual date of the coin you sent in? What if you said it was a New Jersey copper? Or a St Gaudens double eagle? Would have been gratifying to know I was better at attributing than NGC, but I guess they just didn't bother.

The problem with TPG's, is they don't know how to grade Colonial copper. Until they get experts in there that grade properly, this will continue. They grade these just like Large Cents and you can't do that. Nice coin though :-)
