Amazon has the Red Book, the blue book, the U. S. and the world black books, Coins of North America, and World Coins. I realize it is 2014, but these are available on Amazon. They might be advance sales, I am not certain.

It is possible. Whitman is nuts with this system of putting a year date on the Red Book so far in advance. I usually get mine at coin shows in April.

For several years now it has come out in April and has the next calendar year date. And we thought new cars were bad.

Quote: For several years now it has come out in April and has the next calendar year date. Actually Jbuck it always has come out about April. As far back as 1946 when it first came out, the Whitman Publishers thought it would only be a one time issue so they made it for the following year. That is according to Dennis Tucker, Publisher of Whitman Coin books. Omce started putting the next year's date on the book, this system continued year after year until the present. According to Mr. Tucker, in order to fix this now would mean to have to skip a year and the company just doesn't want to loose those sales.

Interesting. I do recall them coming out in advance of the calendar year, just not that far in advance. Perhaps "back in the day" it took a while for the local book stores to get them in, making it seem like a more timely release (at least closer to when new cars came out in the fall).

Wizard has them for cheaper than Amazon (although the web site still says they're in preorder; due in stock tomorrow), but if you have Amazon Prime, it's probably a wash after shipping.

Has anyone received their Red Book yet? (Dare I ask) any major differences from the 2014 book?

Purchased 10 of the ringed versions at a coin show April 13, this year. Paid $10 each. I use them for Christmas Presents. And since at a coin show, no postage, handling, taxes, etc. Just cash.

I got the 2015 last week. In the Large Print addition. It is my first time having one so I wouldn't know about differences from last year but I love it. The large pictures and type are great. I don't know what I'd do with out it now. It's really FUN to read with all the history behind it and small details about coins I would never thought of asking about. It's a 'MUST HAVE' for me.

I see Wizard referenced. If you are an ANA member you can get a discount. Just 5%, but I do like discounts.

How often do you repurchase a red or blue book? I usually upgrade every 3 or 4 years. That is a good starting point for a price but if there is something I am looking for I always check current prices for similar coins on ebay or numis-media.

Every year (Red). They're cheap enough at 8 bucks or so if you know where to look and the info does change, particularly on modern issues.
