Tell him good luck finding a dealer that can authenticate varieties...these forums are much more reliable than your average coin dealer simply because varieties are a different world.

I agree. You got your money back and have no other obligations to this seller so just don't even worry about what they say now. This hobby is an education in and of itself so in the future educate yourself before making a purchase that could cost you. I've been into coins for a few years but have only been seriously collection and educating myself for the past year and a half and I still haven't even begun to scratch the tip top part of the iceberg.

I'm impressed by his responsiveness. It might not be too hard for a dealer to determine this is a fake from the bust alone. After all, a good dealer needs to spot fake LWC keys.

Eddy current / Inductive braking, signature also maybe different/wrong. Using high precision TFD. the counterfeit 1955 DDO s I have tested, were off by 20% when compared to other 1950s cents

Post some decent photos of it when you get it.

If the consensus is then that it is fake take it to a dealer.

If everyone agrees it fake I personally would drill a hole at 12 o'clock or counterstamp it and spend it and wait to see how long it turns back up on ebay or the forum.

A hole will definite cause anyone who encounters the coin who knows what a 1955 DDO is to question why someone would hole or counterstamp a real one.
