I know many collectors and investors alike dont speak Spanish. Based on what I've seen on ebay, forums and many other places lately, I'd like to clarify something. Spanish, like english adds and "s" to denote plural. However, when words don't end in vowels an extra "e" is added to make the correct sounds. When words end in a vowel, only the "s" is added. To what numismatics compete: "Real" is singular "Reales" is plural "Reale" is a word that doesn't exist ! Its similar case to "tamale" a non-correct word, who I assume someone time ago though would be the singular for "tamales" I dont think what ebay sellers use in their listing make a difference, but certainly is important to have knowledge of the correct words, and not use "Reale" on more formal numismatics documents. Hope this helps :)

I'm guessing it was an English speaking seller who was trying to get the singular from Reales using English grammar.

On ebay, if the masses search for the "non-word" reale, then it may be wise to spell it that way as well as the correct way in the listing title so you don't get overlooked when people are searching for a real. Just a thought. I search for both and it seems like I sometimes get different results.

Usually if its a piece of 2, 4 or 8, you would say REALES anyway (plural), not Reale. I guess singular would just apply to 1/2 or 1 pieces. Agree with what you say though, although there are so many possibilities people could search anyway, its hard to always satisfy everything (8R, columnario, pillar dollar, etc etc)

This is an instance where I would get much more concerned though, coming from an official authoritative body and using incorrect names/language
