i think if I won I would still collect coins but I wouldn't do it as much because I would be busy with new hobbies I couldn't afford before like not working!

I definitely would still collect, it would fund me more so. I would create a museum inside my residence, make it nicely secure probably buy a rocking chair and a small arsenal to sit rocking with . I don't think my hobbies would change, I would definitely ensure I visit all ancient/historic sites around the world- but I try and do that any way now. Just can't afford continuous travel yet :(, but I've seen some amazing sites.

Now that I have got carried away with my rem state of mind, reality kicks in and I remember that I don't play the lottery , I have on occasions mind you.

If I was an instant millionaire, I would still be searching for interesting coins out of dealers' junk boxes in the $1 to $10 range.
Some would be tempted by the very best.
I would still be tempted by the cheapies as well.

Valuable coins are not necessarily the most interesting.
Coins after all, are just discs of metal with bumpy surfaces on them.

Yes, absolutely.

Of course, for me it's a purely hypothetical question. Even if I didn't find lotteries morally questionable, I'd much rather use the money I might have spent on tickets to buy coins instead. After ten years of not-buying-lottery-tickets, I'd have a nice pile of coins that had a 100% probability of being mine - rather than a big pile of money which had a 99.99% probability of not being mine anymore.

"Valuable coins are not necessarily the most interesting."
Amen, sel!
May I use that in my signature?
I would not stop collecting and I would not change my style.
I would, however, endow a few clubs and groups with enough money to keep them
alive for many years to come.
I would continue to exhibit my special collections at shows.
I could then afford to travel to them.
And I would of course continue to be an active CCF member.

I collect for fun, so as long as I still enjoy it can't see giving it up. As others have said, it would just mean I could afford better coins!

If the jackpot was big enough not only would I still collect but I'd take aim at some of those PCGS Registry sets that have won best set running year after year after year. That way I'd still have something to show for my money after spending a big chunk of it....
