Hi, I found one more odd Lincoln Cent. I have a 1984 Lincoln Cent that is missing the bottom part of the letter "L" in the word LIBERTY. "IN GOD" seems to be fouled up too. Is this PMD? Thanks.

No. The area in question on GOD is Die Deterioration. The devices forced die flow around the devices. The devices height is reduced because the field was polished.

Interesting! Thank you very much! Is there any type of premium on a coin like this?

I just found the same type of thing on a 1984 cent of mine, about two hours after reading this thread! IN and GOD are similar to the OP's example, except that I can still read IN, and the same lines are to the west of the L in LIBERTY, but the entire letter is visible. This is why CCF is so great...a newbie like me can get information that's not necessarily in the books.

Probably a lot of information you get here is not found in the books. LOL

Orange! You are exactly right: lots of interesting information to pick up here at CCF. The other interesting thing is that researching an issue isn't difficult. It seems that what might be an unusual question is more frequently asked than one might expect. And using the Search tool usually lands you hours of interesting reading. Enjoy the forums!
