From Feb when I got to go out and play in a local soccer field.
Had to wait 60 days after reporting it to the local police lost and found then cashed it in for $417 even.

I bet Giovanni wished he had never wore his bracelet to the soccer field.

So nobody claimed the pop tops from the police lost-and-found either?

If I find anything of value I report it to the local police just in case some one has reported it lost or stolen. Generally after thirty days the report is closed and I get to keep the item. I was away this time though. I have never had anyone claim a lost item but I figure it covers me when I go to trade it in. I did due diligence and have paper trail should their be a dispute later on. A friend who works in the repo business told me to do it.

Oh, O.K. I see.
Many, many years ago I found/came across 2 antique gold/diamond rings.
I did what I thought was right and also turned them in to the police.
Due to the circumstances of how I got hold of them I will not get into.
I was only a teen at the time
Anyway, I knew of the owner but he had been dead for years with no relatives and the house was abandoned and bordered up (sort of) :)
Back then they would hold items for a whole year before you could claim them. I went back a year later and lo and behold they were gone.
Cops said the owner picked them up. They also had no paper work etc.
on the return. U'mmm, Ya right. Two lessons here. Ghosts do exist and I got exactly what I deserved. Nothing
Well, 3 lessons actually. There are some crooked cops.

I live in a relatively small town outside Houston and the local cops pretty much know me by sight.. I am always in the police station getting police reports for work visas etc. The only thing I ever did not get to keep was a blackberry which they had sprint trace the owner for. Since it was locked I could not do that.

Cool find. I'm glad you were able to keep it and pocket some cash in the process! I've only found one gold ring and it belonged to my father who had lost it mowing the lawn.
