It may not be much compared to what others find, but I did dig up my first silver U.S. coin over the weekend. It's a 1944-S Mercury dime. I've been hunting since January 2012 and this is only silver coin #18 for me.
I live in SE Wisconsin and found this 5" down in the lawn of an old restaurant where wedding receptions were held back in the 1950s and 1960s. The lawn also yielded a 1951 Lincoln Cent and a number of other coins from the 1960s.
My detecting friend knows the owner and was able to get us permission to hunt.
