got a box this morning to search 40 rolls where 2014-p, rest where rotten zincolns. but in the last roll I found this cool little one. It was not a total lose I found 25 War Nickels in one roll of nickels I got with the box. I assume this is a Struck Through Grease but I am not 100% sure as I am still new to all this.

1998-P Greaser

** picture taken on top of 2x2 not under plastic

Please correct me if I am wrong...

Please look at last two pictures of the head

There some weird things going some sort of Machine Doubling or something to around the head.. I have no clue ? But I am sure someone here will know..

I made out date by blowing up a whole bunch and assuming..

check bottom pictures as the whole coin photos lighting looks like yuck thats not really there as you can see in the details pictures.

A layer of grease will prevent that also. If that coin were uncirculated, it might be a collectable. But as is, it is just interesting. Keep it to show to newer collectors. They like stuff like that.

That looks like plating issues, not doubling.

Possibly the grease caused the die to move a little. The devices on the motto look a little strange as well.

Ok great I understand now.. so it must be common to see some similar effects in Struck Through Grease coins. Just did a search and I see other 1998 with same hairline plating issue on similar Struck Through Grease Lincoln.
