I think VF20 is what it would grade.

Fine 12....

Angellionel, not enough of LIBERTY is showing to be VF.
The lines on the shield are not as full as a VF coin would have.
UNUM is also too worn to be VF20.

I suspect you are right on. I should have also considered that the band under LIBERTY is not distinct. The reverse does seem better than the obverse to these aging eyes.

I think they gave it a VF20, but would not be surprised with a 25.

f12 is what id grade it.
edit. it looks more like wear on this example than weak strike to me but if I'm wrong I could see it going a bit higher.

Thanks for all of the grades. Here is the NGC grade:

1897-O-Barber-Quarter,-You-Vs.-NGC

I think NGC was a bit conservative with this one. When grading Barbers, I rely on the grading standards that are in David Lawrence's books on the series. I personally think this one is VF20. All of the letters of Liberty are complete (though barely.) I may crack this one out and send it into PCGS with my next submission and get their opinion.
