Received the "Colonel" Green 1818 N-10 Large Cent back from NGC grading today. Although I provided a copy of the EAC pedigree they chose not to honor it and did not include pedigree on the label. Have a go at their grading and I will provide results tomorrow. Sorry for the poor quality of photos but copper coins in brown mode defy my capabilities to accurately photograph them (especially slabbed). PG

You guys are killing me! Another N-10? And another beauty too! (unrecognized) Pedigree is not too shabby either.

I guess that you had to tbe the individual physically handing the coin to the TPG for it to be pedigreed?

MS65BN with a "twist".

I bet I am going to be off since the forum is usually close but I am going to go with a conservative AU-58. I am having trouble making out if there a light wear since the pictures are a little bit dark. I think the coin would grade at least a high AU given the amount of detail remaining and the luster on the reverse. I wouldn't argue with a MS grade if that is indeed what it got. Anyways, it's a fantastic coin!

I'm thinking MS64BN on this one, when you post the grade, would you let us know if the NGC grade hand the EAC grade are even close? Thanks!

Having the provenance on the label would've been nice did they say why they wouldn't put it on? I've seen quite a few coins in NGC holders with the Col. Green collection noted on the label.

Guess it's time for the reveal. NGC gave it a lower grade than I and most everyone on the Forum. The devices are super clean with virtually no marks. Anyway, it is what it is. I may break it out and send it to PCGS later in the month since I'm due to renew and get a grading coupon. For Westcoin - EAC graded it as "AU50" and in MDS. Here's what NGC came up with:

I see the AU from EAC net grading, any rub or wear results in an AU, which is more in line with how I learned to grade, the past 15 years standards in market grading have prevailed, and caused me to really look at how I grade all over again. I'm usually somewhere in-between EAC and Market grading.

Love this variety I'm keeping my eye out for one now! Very cool.

Great news!! I cracked it out of its NGC prison and sent it off to PCGS with hopes of pedigree inclusion. Don't have it back as yet, but here's their result on it. Although it dropped a point in grade, I'm not a bit unhappy!! PG

Can you cross it back over to NGC and get the pedigree on it, snce PCGS has it on their label?
so you will have it back at 63 (hopefully) AND a pedigree...

If they honor other TPG's pedigree labels, that is...
